London attractions: Get green with the Garden Museum
London might be thought of as an urban jungle by some, but it also has some luscious green spaces, and the Garden Museum is one of many great London attractions for fans of the great outdoors.
The current gallery exhibition is entitled "Going 'green' in the city: From Garden City to Green City" and tackles the problem of how to make city life more environmentally friendly.
It explores the efforts of many generations to get more green, from Victorian pioneers determined to improve living conditions in post-industrialised Britain, to today's landscape architects on their mission to transform urban centres.
The exhibition revisits a time when areas such as Brixton and Waterloo could be seen as rural idylls, and gives visitors a glimpse of the many private green spaces created by pioneering individuals.
Art fans are also in for a treat as the magazine space exhibition encompasses Jane Sebire's Photos of Green Spaces.
